Finding Earlier Posts: Step 1

A hundred-and-thirty-odd links at the end of this page and they don't work any more. I don't know why. I've had to jury-rig              a two-step process for linking back selectively to my earlier posts.     Bear with me, please.

It's not that you can't link back straight from the "Step 2" sidebar; you can. Problem is, the titles are organized on this Step 1 page. I suppose you can take pot luck,
browsing dates at random on the drop-down list under Step 2, but wouldn't it be better to have at least an idea of the subject?

The solution, if you care to pursue it, is to look up a title on the list below; note the date; and find that date on the Step 2 list. Granted, a procedure for only the determined. If you are of that small but happy band, thank you.

I originally added this page to call attention to the earliest posts, because they tell why I started this blog in the first place. There were two reasons (and they're still valid):
     - I find it regrettable that the fine old craft of writing has been reduced to a commodity called "content"; and
     - I need to troll for freelance writing work.

Posts in the first category take the form of diatribes against "content" and the people who promote it; those in the second are sometimes outright pitches, but are more often just examples of  my writing style. I've cataloged those loosely below.

There are among the posts occasional digressions into the subject of language, and instances where I take liberties with ours. Things that may appear to be grammatical errors are those "liberties." Always

All but one or two posts are written with absolutely no thought to search engine optimization. Any that are are clearly labeled.

To review old posts, at first you had to scroll down to the very bottom of all  the current posts to where there's a line that says "Older Posts." On my screen the words appear in an almost translucent light blue, so if your eyesight is anything like mine, you could have had trouble reading them.

However, in December of 2015, only three years after starting, I broke the code for linking back to earlier posts. The links in blue, below will get you to the page you need. However, there can be as many as six or seven posts to a page; to find the particular post you're looking for on that page you may still have to do some scrolling down. It ain't nearly as bad as it used to be, though.

(There's probably a way to make the type in the listing legible, too, but I haven't found that one yet.) Anyway --
